Job Description
EMG Musicians for Receptions provides various contracted event services, including performing with DJs, Bands, and more. They are service-oriented for our clients, capable of performing all music requests communicated to them, have the requisite equipment, and are generally flexible around the demands of live event entertainment.
Event Offers are given in advance, with all details available on an Accept/Decline basis. Once an event is Accepted, you are expected to hold your commitment.
Pay: Services start at $200 for first hour, $50/hr each additional hour ($350 for a 4-hour Reception)

Responsibilities
- Entertain clients along with DJs and Bands for party-based events
- Comfortability performing while moving/interacting with guests (for mobile instruments)
- Exhibit exceptional customer service for clients
- Provide all equipment necessary to perform in a variety of spaces
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with office and event staff
- Maintain attire and physical appearance standards required for the luxury events industry
- Arrive on-time for designated call times and be available throughout the service to perform when needed
- Ability to also perform for Ceremony and Cocktail Hour services as needed, with the ability to read music and prepare music requests as required (excluding Drum Set/Percussion)
Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Required
- Comfortable interacting with high-end luxury clientele and providing exceptional service to all clients
- Exceptional ability to improvise on a variety of music
- Sensitivity for when to interact with guests on the dance floor and when to pull back intensity of performance
Audition Requirements
Record yourself in a video performing the following selections to be considered. Submit your videos at the bottom of this page either by private YouTube link or mp4 file when submitting your interest form. You do not need to record the entire song.

Electric Guitar
Play horn-line melodies AND improvised lines that embellish the music over the track in between phrases. You must use a Fender Stratocaster, Telecaster, or Gibson Les Paul guitar or other models that fit the criteria. No Hollow Bodies, Arch Tops, or Jazz style guitars will be permitted. Be sure to use Overdrive and other effects to enhance your tone.

Instruments required for Percussion/Drum Set
Percussionists: below is a list of instruments required to perform with a DJ.
- (2) Congas or Bongos
- (2) Timbales
- (1) Snare Drum
- (3) Cymbals (2 Crashes and a Smaller Crash)
- (2) Woodblocks (or the plastic equivalent of those)
- (1) Cowbell
- (1) Tambourine
Drum Set players need a 5-piece Drum Set.
