Cydney graced the stage at Radio City Music Hall for the SNL Homecoming Concert and later joined Cyrus again for the official SNL 50 televised special at Studio 8H.

A Last-Minute Call That Led to a Historic Stage
Cydney’s journey to the SNL 50 stage happened almost overnight. Just days before the Homecoming Concert, she received a call from a fellow musician looking to assemble backup vocalists for Miley’s performance. Within hours, Cydney was on her way to Radio City Music Hall, ready to rehearse with two other singers.
“We had about 30-40 minutes to prepare before Miley arrived,” Cydney shared. “We went over harmonies, thinking we were just performing Flowers—then Miley walked in and changed everything on the spot.”
Miley’s Vision & A Star-Studded Collaboration
Miley, known for her powerhouse vocals and creative spontaneity, decided to revamp the arrangement on the fly. Alongside legendary musician Brittany Howard and The Roots, Cydney and her fellow vocalists had to quickly adjust to the new version.
“Miley was incredible—welcoming, professional, and knew exactly what she wanted,” Cydney recalled. “She told us, ‘We’re changing it up. Let’s go!’ And within minutes, we were sound-checking with one of the biggest stars on the planet.”
In addition to Flowers, Miley surprised everyone by performing Crazy Little Thing Called Love, giving Cydney yet another chance to showcase her talent alongside A-list artists.
SNL 50: A Dream Come True at Studio 8H
After the Homecoming Concert, Miley personally invited Cydney and the backup vocalists to join her again for the live SNL 50 special at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
“As a lifelong SNL fan, stepping into Studio 8H was surreal,” Cydney said. “It’s smaller than you think, but the energy is electric. Every hallway is buzzing with legendary cast members, musicians, and industry icons.”
Miley’s song selection for the evening—Nothing Compares 2 U—was a nod to Sinead O’Connor’s controversial yet iconic history with SNL. The emotional performance was one of the highlights of the night, cementing Miley (and Cydney) as part of SNL’s storied musical legacy.
