Having trouble picking entertainment for your wedding? First, you have to find the right company. We have compiled a list of questions to keep in mind as you narrow down options and choose your wedding entertainment company.

1. Where do we start?

Research research research! Nowadays, the best place to start is online reading reviews and articles. WeddingWire, The Knot, NJWedding.com, etc., are all reputable and provide a lot of insight. Another starting point could be venue recommendations or even word of mouth.

2. Does the company have a good online & social media presence?

Throughout your research, do not be afraid to dig deep and explore the websites and social media accounts of potential vendors. The content they provide could be an indication if they are a good fit for you.

3. What are we looking for?

Have a general idea of what you want as you research entertainment companies. For example, if you want a live wedding band, don’t waste your time looking at DJ-based companies or vice versa.

4. Is this company experienced?

Experience does not always meantime. For instance, the wedding DJ who as been in the industry for 30 years may have been doing it wrong. Look for experience that is aligned with what you want. If you are looking for a live band, make sure the band has performed at weddings, and not just at bars.

5. Is the price too good to be true?

In the entertainment industry, you truly do get what you pay for. Be weary of anything grossly under the general industry standard.

6. Do I trust this company?

Most importantly, you must trust the company you hire as well as the talent. Make sure they have the “it factor” you are looking for and align with your philosophies and ideals. Trust your gut!
